Nov 26, 2006 Talena Sanders is a video installation artist and VJ (under the name dinosaurfight) who has been living and working in both Brooklyn, NY and Lexington, KY for the past five years. She studied art at the University of Kentucky, Hunter College, Southern Oregon University, School of Visual Arts, and La Suerte Biological Field Station in Costa Rica. Her installation and video work explores the effects of social politics on human interaction and ideals of identity on the individual level, while her VJ work addresses the supermundane. In all media, she is dedicated to making art accessible by presenting in public settings, authorized or otherwise. Her work has been seen at the Huntington Museum of Art in Huntington, West Virginia, Grace Exhibition Space in Brooklyn, NY, the Icehouse and the Old Tarr Bourbon Distillery in Lexington, KY, the Fountain Art Fair in Miami, FL, Musée de l'Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland, and as renegade installations around New York, Kentucky, Oregon, Switzerland, and Costa Rica. She has recently begun collaborating with the Zuvuya Collective on interdisciplinary performances featuring live video mixing, live audio, and dance. She has collaborated with Zuvuya Collective on performances at BPM in Brooklyn, NY, ABC No Rio in New York, NY, and will collaborate in upcoming performances at the Chelsea Art Museum, also in New York, NY.
